We thought it best to see what all the fuss is about regarding Network RV Caravans, Daniel decided to take the family up to the Snowy Mountains for a few days and test it out.
The Caravan
Network RV Terrain Tuff 22' Side Club
TARE - 2616kg
ATM - 3500KG
BALL - 166kg
RRP - $69,305
How did it tow?
We towed it with a standard 2020 Ford Ranger, Considering it was a 22' Caravan that weighed 2616kg Tare, it towed really well, sat on about 105ks on the Hume highway and going up the mountain went surprisingly well, 40ks all the way up with no dramas.
Avg fuel was about 16-17ltr (total Trip)
Camping
We camped by the Yarrangobilly River, it was amazing, clean drop toilets and very well maintained camp ground.
With the 2 x 170w Solar panels and 2 x 100amp Batteriers, we had no issues with power, the nights were very cold, but in the van was nice and warm, no need for any heating.
What would I add to the van?
I would add more water, Network RV Caravans come with 2 x 95ltr Fresh water and 1 x 95ltr Grey, which is great, but there were 3 of us, one a 13 year old girl who loved her showers, we only ran out on the 3rd day, but a 3rd tank would be handy. You could fill up from the river, it's crystal clear.
More Picnic tables, why not use the side of the van for picnic tables, would save us taking an extra table.
Thats about it really.
What we loved about the van
The size of the shower, I'm no small bloke and it was great to be able to have a shower which felt like one at home. Great shower head and loads of room.
Pantry space, loads and loads of pantry space.
The tunnel boot, was able to fit my Webber, 2 burner cooker, fishing tackle, all our hoses and ramps, tools and we still had loads of room.
The simplicity of how to use everything, one simple on/off switch, no complicated tablets or gauges.
